Here are the rules for the 2015 player draft from Oren.
1. There will be 30 rounds in a snake style order (1st overall gets 60, 30th gets 31). There are 25 for your active MLB players, and 5 for those on your complete 30 man MLB roster that are eligible to be called up to the active roster.
2. The draft will start on March 3rd at 3:00 PM EST on Proboards in this folder. It may carry in a bit to the season but we will have the majority of our rosters and thus be able to play by then.
3. There will be a 6 hour limit on each pick after the previous person has picked. The draft clock will freeze from 12 AM EST to 6 AM EST. Picks are still allowed in that time, and if a pick is made, the next person's turn will only go in effect at 6 AM.
4. Teams have until 5 picks after their pick has been passed to make a pick, or else they will get an autopick.
5. You are allowed to trade picks in the trades board, as long as they are confirmed and processed before or within 15 minutes of the pick. It will be voted on by all managers, and will be approved with 4 approvals and vetoed with 4 vetos.
6. Teams are allotted to message any manager they know will be active to make their pick if they are unable to do so.
7. Players will be picked by their contract on their real-life team, found on www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/
8. You are only allowed to pick players with MLB experience, meaning over 150 AB for hitters, 50 IP for SP or 25 IP for RP in their careers.
9. Oren will keep a Google Docs with all the draft picks, so an owner can see where and when they are picking.
10. Please post your pick as a new post in a given round's thread. grand-slam.proboards.com/thread/7922/2015-mlb-draft-rd-1
Be sure to include your team and player selected with his position and Cot's salary.
*Keep in mind, although it is not yet listed in the official rules, that our new salary cap is $115 million. Another slight tweak not listed is that extensions are no longer based on the player rater but stats. The league scoring is 7x7.
Remember to check the site often throughout the draft if possible.
