Hey everyone,
A few owners and I have been kicking around the idea of switching to live format to finish out the draft. Switching to a live draft will allow owners to easily set a list of players which will auto-select the highest ranked player if they are not online at a certain point in the draft. If we do indeed move to a live draft, the date and time will be voted on by all owners.

Another idea would be to live draft only the last x amount of rounds depending on where we are at come a few days before the season. Or do a few live drafts of 3-4 rds at a time so tht would take 20-30 min so not too bad rather than 2-3 hours it's takento finish the full draft at on e

Fantrax allows for the time between each pick to last between 30 seconds and 5 hours. Its at the leagues discretion

Or maybe even have a 2 hour period each day where we have atleast 2 rounds picked in a live draft to speed it up. Dont have time to pick just send a list to a someone

Live drafting 2-3 rounds a day would be a great idea

Teams need to make the effort to get online when their pick is coming up that is all.

I agree doesn't take much to check draft status every once in a while

There are a lot of issues going on right now. People are waiting until they're on the clock, then trying to trade their pick, taking a few hours sometimes, which even if the following person isn't on, it holds up the skip-time.
On top of that, as everyone knows, there are about 4 or 5 teams that never get on, that hold up the entire draft. We all have a good idea of when we should be picking, and it's only going to get worse as the rounds and high impact players come off the board.
I'd suggest going to a 1 hour clock between 5-10 pm Mon-Fri, and a 2 hour clock on Sat/Sun. We can keep the clock at 4 hours during day school & work hours, and if you know you can't get on, send a short list to someone.
On top of that, i'd say inactivity, without notice, for over a day, can get you the boot.
Again, I know this may seem a little extreme, but Horse probably has the worst situation being on the other side of the world, and he's still here to draft when it's his turn. If people can't get excited about drafting and show up regularly when they're close (and getting emails about their turn), why should we expect them to be here and active during the season or next offseason anyway.
Those are my thoughts on this whole thing. This is a live draft, but there are some dead-weight GM's right now. Boom.

I agree with most of what Nick said, and I think moving the draft to Fantrax is deeefinitely a big way to speed things up because of the queue system. Nobody has an excuse to not at least check a queue once or twice a day.

I agree with most of this, except it is completely inconsiderate to those who live outside of the US time zones, keeping it to a 4 hour round the clock clock would be much fairer.

Horse, I love you man and I agree it sucks, but it night just be what we have to do here..we started late and that's out fault as a group, but fantrax' queue system will get you your top guy as long as he's still there. I feel you, because I'll be working pretty much nob stop the next 4 days and won't be on as much, but we really do have to do something to get this thing going
