pick 24.26 dbacks select SP - Erik Johnson (CHW) Not sure why no one alerted you of this earlier, but Johnson is ineligible for the MLB draft and eligible for the MiLB draft. Per the rules: "A player's first year is the year that they exceed either 150 AB or 50 IP in a single season" (I added the bold for emphasis) Johnson had 27.2 IP in 2013 and 23.2 IP in 2014; this gives him a total of greater than 50.0 IP (51.1 to be exact), however he never passed 50.0 IP in a single year, meaning he is still a prospect. I'm sorry no one brought this to your attention earlier, but this pick should be ruled invalid. |
