- 30-man roster
- Within the 30 man roster, there is a 25 man active roster, and a 5 man roster where you store players who are not on your active 25 man roster. These are the 30 players you can call up throughout the season. All 30-man roster player movement actions must be made on both Fantrax and Call Up/Demotions thread.
- 19 players in scoring lineup(Players that can score for your team that day)
- Hitting: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, UT
- Pitching: SP, and RP 10 available spots in lineup, 3 SP, 3 RP and 4 P spots.
- 21 remaining players can be in MLB or MiLB(minor leagues), but are not in the lineup and will not score for your team.
- The Backup Roster is the official roster. Always verify that your players & numbers match.
- MiLB(minor league) system
- All minor league system player movement actions must be made on both Fantrax and Call Up/Demotions thread.
- There is a maximum of 50 players for a minor league system. Only minor league players are eligible for this roster.
- A minor league player is defined as someone who has less than 50 IP for SP, 25 IP for RP or 150 AB in MLB. Any player above these thresholds, must remain on your active 30 man roster (even if they're in the minors in real life).
- Minor league players have an annual salary of $400,000, unless they have a MLB contract (usually high profile players and international FA's). Check Cot's.
- Disabled List
- All disabled list player movement actions must be made on both Fantrax and Call Up/Demotions thread.
- The disabled list allows teams to retain an injured player without using a roster spot.
- All salaries on the Disabled List still count toward your cap
- The only players eligible for the disabled list are those on the MLB disabled list for their actual MLB team, and must be activated as they are in real life.
- Player acquisition
- Any player that is available on Fantrax, is available to add to your team. Verify their contract on Cot's Baseball Contracts, and reply in Free Agent Bidding. The exceptions to this are:
- If a commissioner has stated the activity is on hold.
- Players eligible for the draft (International FA's & drafted players (FYPD)).
- Players whose salary will make a team over their cap limit.
- Players that are on waivers.
- Trades
- Two or more teams agree on a trade proposal involving draft picks, players, and/or cash.
- The agreement is posted by one of the parties involved in Trades, with the remaining parties replying with their acceptance. Must have FULL contract information in your roster and in all trades, along with what team is trading whom.
- Each trade agreement is voted on by a trade committee, with 5 votes necessary to pass or 6 veto's to deny a trade.
- Trade committee consists of: Yankees, Cardinals, Red Sox, Astros, Pirates, Giants, Athletics, Reds, Rockies, Cubs, Braves. Indians will vote when activity is low and/or to break a tie.
- A Trade can only be deleted with consent from both parties. No trade can be deleted after acceptance by both parties without consent from both parties. If this is done then a warning and then a fine will be given.
- Trade Restrictions:
- No trading of franchise tags.
- No betting of Cap.
- No betting of players.
- No trading of real life money/items for players.
- Draft
- Each draft consists of 5 rounds, order determined by worst to best record for each team.
- Players eligible for the draft include those eligible for the past year's June draft and July 2 IFA.
- The draft is conducted through a Record of Picks, each team replying with their pick in the draft.
- Picks are eligible to be traded two seasons out from the current season. For example during the 2013 season, you may trade out to the 2015 pick.
- Waivers
- If a player is released from his team, he will be placed on Waivers for 48 hours. After that period, he will go into the Free Agent pool.
- If a player is claimed, they will be awarded to the team with the highest Waiver Priority, at the contract as indicated on Cot's.
- Once the trade deadline passes, players are eligible to be placed on waivers (until the waiver deadline).
- When a player is placed on waivers, any other team can place a claim to negotiate a trade for the player. Once 24 hours have passed since the player was placed on waivers:
- The team with the highest waiver order can negotiate a trade over the following 24 hours.List item 1
- If no waiver claims have been place, the player is now eligible to be traded to any team without time restriction.
- Waiver claim's may not be revoked once placed.
- Once a waiver has been awarded, that team will go to the bottom of the priority list. The Waiver Priority Order is continuous, and does not reset.
- Salary Cap
- Each team has a $115 million salary cap.
- Unspent money in salary cap room does not transition from one year to the next.
- All major leaguers must have the Cot's contract OR the contract assigned via free agency in this league. If a player signs a FA contract here, and is released, the next team to sign that player will go back to the Cot's salary.
- There are no restrictions for trading cap or future cap. The trade board will monitor this closely. Any traded cap does not have to remain associated with any player.
- Arbitration
- We will be using a scale for players in their 1st-6th years in the majors. A player's first year is the year that they exceed either 150 AB or 50 IP in a single season. The following season will be his second and so on. For a season to count against a players service time, he must reach either 100AB, 50 IP for SP, or 15IP for RP. For a players first 3 seasons, they will cost 0.4 million dollars.
- Service time will be tracked on the Master Roster Spreadsheet.
- All Arb Salaries for years 4-6 will need to be posted by each GM by (deadline).
- Players who are between 4-6 service years are ARB Eligible. We use a scale to determine their salary.
- Years 4-6: For players in their 4th - 6th year we will use the following scale:

Free Agency - The remaining free agency eligible players can be bid on according to the Free Agency Rules.
- Free Agent season will open after the draft, and after the tagging period.
- There will be no Free Agent compensation.
- Contracts can be one to five years in length. In real life players tend to favor longer contracts, but in our game players always go with the contract with the highest annual value, so instead, longer contracts will receive a discount of 5% off of the annual value for each additional year offered, i.e. a four year contract will be discounted by 15% each year. This discount will be taken after bidding is completed to keep things simple and so that everyone can plainly see the raw annual value (the annual value before discounts) of your bid. In addition, there is a 10% hometown discount for signing a player who last played for your own team (hometown discount.)
- International Free Agents who arent J2 IFA will be part of our free agency.
- For IFA's signed to a max contract, when their 5 year deal runs out, you will retain control of them in an arb-like situation, but at their same price, and according to the same rules.
- If you sign an international player for under 5 years, I will assume you want them only for that amount of time.
- For IFA's: If you don't have an amount of time, and are not bidded against, they will be a minimum ($0.4M) expense and placed in minors.
- Dropping players
- All player releases must be made on both Fantrax and Releases.
- Players that are dropped with a Cot's salary, the GM will be responsible for half of their Cot's salary for the current year only(updated Jan 2014)-all future years will be forgiven. Players that are dropped, who have a contract generated here, GM's will be accountable for half of the contract until the end of that contract.
- Retirements/Japan Contracts will be completely forgiven if released in the preseason for Cot's contracted players. Contracts generated here during Free Agency, or Arb extensions will be charged 25% for each year of the contract.
- Deceased players will be completely forgiven immediately.
- Minor league players and players that have not yet reached the career totals of 50 IP or 150 AB, may be dropped without penalty-unless under a MLB contract.
- Do not advertise any other league in the chat or on any of the boards. Ask the admins (Pirates, Indians, Rockies, A's) for permission to pm members about your league.
- Do not disrespect anyone in the chat or on the boards. This rule applies to both regular owners and the commishes.
- Swearing is ok, so long as it is kept to a minimum.
- Nothing may be posted if it violates the Proboards TOS. If you violate the Proboards TOS, you will be permanently banned.
- No Collusion! Simple as that.
- Failure to adhere to these rules, may result in warnings, fines, dropping of players or being removed from this league. Penalties will be designed for your team. For example, if we're at the end of the year, and a fine won't hurt you, you may lose players.
