Lets use a real example. David Price finished his 6th year of service last year and is Extension Eligible right now
Price's 2015 Salary will be:17.5M (15 wins: 1.5M + 24QS: 4M + 279k's: 5M + 3.29 ERA: 3M +1.079WHIP: 4M)
Now, Our rules state the following:
The minimum contract that extending a player can have is 3M We follow the following scale for extensions. Each year that you extend a player, 2M salary will be added if they are top 5 in their position according to player rater, 1.5M if they are between 6-10 in their position on the player rater, and 1M if they are not top 10 in their position. For Pitchers, salary would be increased by 2M per year if 1-20, 1.5M 20-50, 2M 51 or higher.
Price is #8 for SP on player rater, so his salary is raised 2M each year. Lets extend him for four years, therefore his full salary would be:
15: 17.5M 16: 19.5M 17: 21.5M 18: 23.5M
